The inauguration ceremony of US President Barack Obama did not leave Benjamin Netanyahu indifferent. "This is a moment that will be remembered in the history of the United States and in the history of all nations. It took the United States 100 years to free its Black slaves, another 100 years to grant them equal rights and another 50 to elect a Black president. This gives hope and bolsters the ideal of freedom that America represents," said Netanyahu to Channel 2 News. Netanyahu denied reports that a government headed by him would have difficulty getting along with Obama's Democrat administration and said "We will get along very well. We have had two excellent meetings in the past and on two occasions we spoke seriously and to the point, regarding Iran and world terror" said Netanyahu and added, "I think the US is showing understanding and sympathy through the changes of administration, for the war against terror, which is also their battle. I know the United States from all aspects, Vice-president Biden and Secretary of State Hilary Clinton - this is a team that knows the world and knows the Middle east and I expect that if I am elected, I will work with them on behalf of shared goals."
