Weapons shooting continues without a military response or military authority: The concern is that there is no support for real action, that there will be a heavy economic price, and that an extended strike to the communities could include casualties.

 

The government will convene this morning (Sunday) for a weekly meeting to discuss the continued kassam shootings and weaponry injuries. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and minister of foreign affairs, Tzipi Livni, are expected to voice their opposition against restraint, in contrast to the position of Ehud Barak, minster of security. Livni is also expected to assemble her office's staff to discuss the situation in the south. It is not clear what the nature of this meeting is.
