Begin's Message to Young: "Believe in Your ideals!"
The Likud Anglos "Y Group" for young professionals and students toured the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem on April 8, 2008. There they witnessed the dramatic story of Menachem Begin's vision of a Jewish state, his long struggle to reach Palestine including imprisonment in Siberia, his leadership of the underground Irgun fighting for Israel's independence, and his tremendous victory after years in political opposition to become the first Likud prime minister of Israel.

The example of Begin's sacrifice and commitment are truly inspiring for young people getting involved in politics and Likud for the first time, said Vika Dolburd, Chair of Likud Anglos Y Group. After the tour, museum founder and long-time Begin aide Harry Hurvitz gave a stirring talk to the group, telling a number of touching anecdotes. Hurvitz summed up Begin's approach with the following aphorism: "Believe in your ideals, be ready to sacrifice for your ideals, don't give up on your ideals."
