Netanyahu: It’s Not Over Yet. We Will Have to Have Patience to End the Hamas Threat

Sunday. A unilateral ceasefire was announced today with the Hamas, and Netanyahu went to the southern communities which continued to suffer missile attacks. At Soroka Hospital in Beersheva, Netanyahu visited the war wounded, soldiers and civilians who were injured by rocket fire. Among them was Urel Yelizirov, the 7 year-old boy who is fighting for his life after he was hit by a Grad missile last Thursday in Beersheva.
In the brief press conference Netanyahu held at the hospital, the hospital director thanked Netanyahu for his frequent visits to the hospital. Netanyahu thanked the doctors and nurses for their devoted work: ‘This the second time I am visiting here. Every visit is difficult. It is hard to see the severe injuries, the parents, and especially the mothers. It is hard to see a 7 year-old child fighting for his life, and I salute you for what you are doing.”
Relating to the ceasefire and his conversations with the wounded soldiers at the hospital, Netanyahu expressed his wonder and admiration for the solders’ fighting spirit: “I spoke with wounded soldiers and they continue to show that same amazing spirit of determination, resolve, and courage. It can again be said without exaggerating that we have a very strong nation, we have a very strong spirit.”
“The truth must be told: The IDF hit the Hamas very hard but unfortunately the work was not completed. The Hamsas still controls Gaza and will continue to smuggle missiles through the Philadelphi Corridor” Netanyahu noted. “We cannot afford to show weakness in the face of the support that Hamas is receiving from Iran”. In summary, Netanyahu said , “We have to demonstrate strength and resolution until we remove the threat completely. I have to say today, regretfully, that the job has not been completed.”
Netanyahu paid a visit n the afternoon to Sderot, met with the mayor, and continued on to visit the wounded in Beersheva.
