Together we will promote science and technology in Israel!

At the end of 1996 the Knesset committee published an extensive report regarding the state of preparation for the Information Age in Israel. Then Prime Minister Netanyahu adopted the conclusions of the report, and the Israeli government began unprecedented preliminary steps in the implementation of different aspects of information technology, such as founding the HILA (Information Age preparation in Israel) unit in the Prime Minister office, e-mail service integration in government offices, the launching of dozens of government websites and the development of the government web portal allowing the public easy access to various government services, and founding 3 community Internet pilot community centers in development towns.

Since then Israel has advanced rapidly, positioning itself on the frontline of technological innovation. This is due to the high quality of the Israeli workforce, the most valuable resource in the information industry. This resource has allowed Israel to develop an alternative to traditional industries, becoming a world leader in the high tech industry. The basis for the creation of a skilled workforce to answer the needs of Israel's high tech industry is the education system.

The Likud Government, headed by Netanyahu, will continue to support the rapid development of the high tech industry and education system, allowing the integration of the information-rich world of computers and technology from an early age.

The Likud Government headed by Netanyahu will allocate funds for the support of research in the fields of computers and communication, and will cooperate with the private sector in investments in R&D, while constructing an advanced communication infrastructure, a mandatory requirement for economic prosperity in a world where computers and Internet connection are ubiquitous.
